It was a bad day. A beautiful day from a weather point of view... but otherwise pretty frickin rotten.
Dave and I had a talk. We had quite a lenghty dialogue. We are still a long way from where we were. I don't know if we'll ever get back to where we were. But I'm willing to give it a shot. I'm willing to put my heart back on the table here, despite the fact that things were said that made me die a little inside.
But as I've said before, I abide by a certain philosophy. I believe that people should do whatever it is that will make them happy. In Dave's twisted, roundabout way, cutting off contact was what he needed to make him happy for a time. Even if it was at my expense, I'm willing to accept that. Because that's what friends do. They forgive the hurt and the faults of those they love because we're all human and we all make mistakes.
I don't pretend to know everything, and even after the lengthy conversation, I still get the feeling that he was holding some parts back. I don't doubt that all of what he said was true, I just doubt that I got 100% of the picture... I got the truth, but not the whole truth.
For those of you who see me in person, I might be a bit mopey here for a while. You're going to have to deal.
